Stream Coldplay's Prospekt's March [EP]
If you've been out of the Coldplay loop recently, let me briefly catch you up. A new digital EP, Lost!, was released on 11/10. Another EP, Prospekt's March, is out today via Capitol, as well as a deluxe edition of the new release, Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends. Check that album art out below, along with a stream of the new EP. Finally, I read earlier today that Chris Martin thinks that all artists/bands shouldn't go past 33, which means Coldplay will call it quits in less than two years. See for yourself, here.

Brightblack Morning Light at The Hideout (11.22.08)
So I went out to the Hideout last night to see a band that I really dig, Brightblack Morning Light. Unfortunately, I was unable to keep track of the setlist, but I believe they played a good chunk of the new album; however, overall, I was left slightly confused. To be honest, I still don't know what to make of it. First, I arrived after eating a pre-Thanksgiving dinner with friends, so I was completely stuffed. Then the venue was super crowded, foggy, and a little hot, but I guess wearing two shirts, a sweater, and a coat didn't help. Then after suffering from a brief panic/anxiety attack or something I decided I should leave, however, while heading to the back I discovered a cooler of water and a fan. After quenching my thirst I decided to stick it out. Now as for the music, the electric piano (rhodes) was right on, the guitar/keys a little on the loud side, drums/congas/vibraphone/trombone a little on the quiet side, and then the vocals were just all wrong. Now, I am not sure what kind of effects were on the vocals, but they were just way too quiet and trebly, yet they vocal mic kept feeding back. I don't know, it was weird. Was it the band, or the venue? Again, I am still confused. Was anyone else there? What were your thoughts? Anyway, the new release, Motion To Rejoin, is out now via Matador and it's pretty fantastic.

Paste Announce Favorite Albums Of 2008
My favorite time of the year is just around the corner and no, it's not Thanksgiving or Christmas, it's what we bloggers love, the end of the year lists. I have been keeping track throughout the year and have begun to work on my lists for Favorite Albums, Favorite Songs, and Favorite Live Shows Of 2008. Granted, I will not post my final lists for another few weeks because I still need to listen a little more to my 300+ albums from the year and of course there are still many albums that I am still unaware of. They are some pretty great songs on this record from Dana Falconberry, unfortunately though I'm not as impressed as I had hoped. Not that it is bad, I just think the best has yet to come and I'm definitely looking forward to it. Oh Skies Of Grey is out now via 2 Minutes 59.
* Album reviews are composed only after a few listens. Yes, opinions may change over time, but most first impressions (un)fortunately seem to hold true. I wish I was creative enough to write a proper review, but I've failed miserably in the past. Here's the next best thing, I hope.
