I decided, last minute, to head on over to the Aragon Ballroom to check out the Yeah Yeah Yeahs show tonight. After frequently spinning and thoroughly enjoying their new release, It's Blitz!, out now via Interscope, I was left even more impressed with their live show. Especially when they opened with my favorite track from the new record, "Runaway." And come on, not too many people have better stage presence/moves than Karen O. The only complaint would be the (overall) sound, but maybe it was just where I was standing. Since I decided to go last minute, I was unaware that Grand Ole Party were opening, who I had seen, and was blown away by, before. However, this set left me with a slightly different opinion. Still good, but again, maybe it was just the sound, but they seemed to only play new songs, which was a slight bummer. Anyway, the show was far beyond average and one of the bests from the year so far.
