The Great Society Mind Destroyers Live at Elbo Room (08.17.08)

I helped out my friends, The Great Society Mind Destroyers, by playing drums for them live the other night, August 17th at the Elbo Room, here in Chicago. If you care to have a listen, the show is available for download via myspace. Now I'm by no means a good drummer and this was my first show ever playing the drums, so please keep that in mind while listening. Oh and just to throw it out there, one of the guitarists broke basically all of his strings on the third song and didn't have a spare, so we had to cut out a song and do a little improvising on the rest of the set. Introducing The Great Society Mind Destroyers

Over the past few months I have been lucky enough to make some new friends and have a few jam sessions. The Great Society Mind Destroyers was the proposed band name, however, these friends have decided to take that name and use it for another psychedelic/noise project. More news on the original project as things progress. Anyway, about two weeks ago, these friends decided to sit down and record a few songs. The result was PURPLE PEACE AND LOVE. THESE WORDS ARE YOUR GRAVE. THE SKY IS A MOUNTAIN. You can currently stream/download 3 of those songs over on their myspace page and I would highly recommend you do so.
