Rue Royale Live at Subterranean

Rue Royale had their cd release show last night at Subterranean and they played the entire album from start to finish, plus an encore. Horse In The Sea and Kyle Andrews performed as well. My friends Rue Royale are about to release a brand new self-titled album, Rue Royale, and they have been nice enough to let us preview 3 new tracks over on their Myspace page. "Tell Me When You Go" and "On And On" are definitely my favorites so far. To give you a brief background, Rue Royale are husband and wife team, Brookln and Ruth Dekker. Brookln is originally from St. Louis while Ruth is from the UK and now their home base is Chicago where they have been creating music for 3 years. They will be playing a record release show at Subterranean on February 16th with Horse In The Sea and Kyle Andrews that I will definitely be at and you should as well. As for getting a hold of the new record you have 3 choices:


* PRE-ORDER the CD ($10+shipping) before February 16th (and go to record release show knowing all the words)

* Come out to the record release show at Subterranean on Feb. 16th ($10) (not knowing the words)

* Wait until it drops in late February, early March to purchase. (and regret the fact that you didn't make it to the show knowing - or not knowing - the words)

Cds will be shipped on February 10th.

Kyle Andrews "Amos In Ohio"

While listening to the William Fitzsimmons interview earlier today on The Drop, there was a brief commercial for The Great American Road Trip and in the background there was this pretty sweet song playing. After searching a little to find who and what song it was, I come to find that it was Kyle Andrews. Now I just so happen to have been friends with Kyle on Virb and Myspace for awhile now and he's even a Chicago native. I also happened to see Kyle live at Schubas over the summer with Great Lake Swimmers and Sean Hayes. To be honest, his live set didn't really do anything for me that night, but I do enjoy this song and many others. However, if you're in the area, I do suggest that you go out and see Kyle on February 16th at Subterranean, with some friends of his and mine, Rue Royale and Horse In The Sea.
